A bit of background…
Lucky Gecko was founded in 2005 by Charlotte (Charlie) Boad, whose aim was to create a unique team of tutors that went the extra mile for their clients and always put the students first. Soon, word spread and the business began to grow, and in 2007 Kate Bridges joined the fledgling company, followed by Luke in 2009. Together, they developed a range of courses, materials and mobile apps, all with the emphasis on making learning fun.
So what makes us different?
In a nutshell, everyone at Lucky Gecko genuinely cares about their students. This is not a typical ‘nine to five’ job, and all of our tutors are extremely dedicated to making sure that every child has the best possible experience with us. We treat each of our students as individuals and we take the time to really get to know them. We are lucky enough to have the freedom to tackle subjects in the way that best suits each child and we tailor-make our tuition programmes to focus on their own specific areas of difficulty.
We like to encourage the idea that, with a Lucky Gecko tutor, our students are part of a team. We support them when they need it, but also encourage them to have the confidence to work independently, so that they can move forward and succeed without us. We don’t believe in ‘over-tutoring’ and our goal is always to get students to a point where they no longer feel that they need help.

Our experience with Lucky Gecko was faultless. Jack was always keen to attend the next lesson, and once the serious work had been done, Jack always enjoyed the fun games at the end of most lessons – a great balance.
